On Wednesday 17th October Reception classes were awash with colour when Miss Bruno led a carnival day. Children learnt about the costumes, music and dance that are related to the history of carnival! Children made colourful head dresses, masks and wands to help celebrate carnival in style!
On the same day our year 1 and 2 children took part in an African Mask and Dance day, where they decorated wooden African Masks and learnt a traditional African dance. The children studied art and the meaning behind many African patterns. The day culminated in a dance where children became hunters and farmers and used their masks to portray these characters.
