On Thursday 20th June, we launched our very first ‘Book Swap.’ The initiative ran as part of the school’s commitment to the WE Charity who help schools to embed social action both locally and globally.
The event was planned and organised by our Pupil Leadership Team who have spent the last few months asking parents and carers for donations of good quality, second hand books that could be shared with other families in the school.
The aim of the Book Swap, part of the WE Read Together campaign, was to create a free book swap that would help develop a positive atmosphere for reading and encourage even more of our children to read for enjoyment. Each week, the school’s London telephone box will be in the playground so families can chose a book together, share it at home and then return it so other families can enjoy the book too. We hope this initiative will continue to run year on year. We are extremely proud of the Pupil Leadership Team for the commitment they have shown to researching and organising such an important campaign.
