Taking books home

Children will be bringing their school books home this year. Please provide your child with a bag on 20th and 21st July to allow children to carry their books safely.

Saying Goodbye to our Year 6 Children

The end of each academic year is a lovely time to reflect on the achievements of the children and our school but it also tinged with sadness as we say goodbye to our amazing year 6 children. Our current year 6 have really been an inspiration to us all. They are resilient, kind and caring young people who we are proud to have had as part of our school community.

Year 6, we are very proud of you and everything you have achieved. We will miss hearing your voices and laughter around the school and we thank you for being committed to your education. Now is your time to go and shine in your new high schools. They are very lucky to be getting such a  wonderful group of children.

Remember to keep working hard and always be the best you can be. Please keep in touch; we would love to hear about your future achievements.

Welcome to Aldborough!

We have enjoyed meeting the children and families who will be joining Aldborough in September. We are also pleased to be welcoming siblings of children in older year groups. We would like to extend a warm welcome to all our new families and we look forward to working with you and your children in the new academic year.

Wellbeing in the Summer Holidays

Promoting positive wellbeing for both parents and children during the summer holidays is crucial for a happy and rejuvenating break. Here are some tips to support your family's                  wellbeing:

  • Establish a routine: Create a flexible routine that balances structured activities with free time. Having a predictable schedule provides a sense of stability and allows for a healthy balance  between relaxation and engagement.
  • Encourage outdoor activities: Spend time outdoors engaging in physical              activities like walks, bike rides, or picnics. Outdoor play and exploration              promote physical fitness, vitamin D absorption, and overall wellbeing for both   parents and children.
  • Foster creativity: Encourage your children to engage in creative activities like art, crafts, or imaginative play. Join in the fun and unleash your own                    creativity. These activities promote self-expression, problem-solving, and enhance overall wellbeing.
  • Prioritise quality family time: Dedicate regular blocks of uninterrupted time for bonding with your children. Engage in activities that promote connection, such as board games, cooking together, or family outings.

Take care of yourself: As a parent, it's crucial to prioritise self-care. Carve out time for activities you enjoy, practise mindfulness or relaxation techniques, and seek support from family or friends when needed.

Remember, every family is unique, so adapt these suggestions to suit your needs and preferences. The summer holidays provide an excellent opportunity to create lasting memories, strengthen family bonds, and prioritise the wellbeing of both parents and children.
