On a rather chilly Sunday evening a group of aspiring violinists travelled to The South Bank to enjoy a performance by the National Children’s Orchestra; and it was a night to remember!
The children from Years 3 and 4 had been noticed by music teacher Mr Winand as being really enthusiastic violinists and Mr Hart, Ms Mullaney and Ms Jimenez escorted our school musicians to the event.
It was a great evening, and not only did the children have the chance to listen to some amazingly talented young musicians they also got to see some of the famous sights of London by night.
Yosan and Waarith from Year 4 thought the trip was ‘Awesome!’ and Maria from Year 3 said ‘The talent of the players was magical.’
Both children and adults were inspired by the experience and we hope this also helps our children recognise the importance of practice to improve their own talents, and perhaps one day they’ll be the children performing with the orchestra?
