It’s been a week of festive cheer with children right across the school in fine voice for their Christmas performances.
On Monday evening St John’s Church was packed to capacity as children from Years One to Four presented a slightly modern twist on the traditional song ‘The Twelve Days of Christmas’. This was punctuated with some beautifully sung carols as each year group took centre stage in front of their proud teachers and family members. The evening culminated with an ocarina recital of Jingle Bells and a rousing whole school rendition of ‘It’s a magical time of the year’, followed by refreshments organised and served by our fantastic Parents’ Group.
On Tuesday and Wednesday it was time for our youngest children to take their turn in the spotlight as FS2 classes performed the Nativity play ‘Whoops-A-Daisy Angel’. The children looked superb in their costumes, and entertained their families and friends with a wonderful medley of singing, dancing and acting. It was fabulous to see young children perform with confidence – and there are definitely some stars in the making!
A great many thanks to the way in which families have supported rehearsals, practised lines, songs and ocarinas at home, provided costumes and attended these events in such large numbers.
