Congratulations to Squirrel and Barracuda classes who have won the attendance trophy over the past week. Both classes achieved 100% attendance. Well done!
Dare to Dream
Today, we have a group of children who are experiencing their dream job of being a teacher! They will be teaching with class teachers in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. All of these children received their staff passes, green and purple pens for marking and their marking stickers!
On Friday 8th July, this will continue with some other future teachers and we will have a new head teacher for the morning. Ema K in year 6 shared her dream of being a head teacher, so on this day she will have the opportunity to give it a go! Ema will also be on the gate on the morning of the 8th July to greet children and parents so do look out for her!
On Wednesday 22nd July, we were joined by Tim from RockSteady! Tim led an assembly and taught the children about different instruments that are played in bands. The children thoroughly enjoyed singing and dancing along! It was an immersive and engaging assembly and we thank Tim for sharing his knowledge with us.
Mrs Uddin and Miss Davies will be leaving us this July to spend more time with their families. Miss Davies will also be moving to Wales! We would like to thank them for all they have done for our school and wish them all the best for the future.
Blocking of pavements
We have had some concerns raised about buggies blocking the pavement and entrance gate to the playground. Please can we ask you not to stop buggies directly outside of our school gates to allow other children to enter the playground safely. We kindly ask that you also keep any buggies, scooters or bikes to the side of the pavement, so others can easily pass.
We thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Change of date—Year 6 performance
The Year 6 performance will now be on Wednesday 13th July and a letter with more information will be sent out this week.
Our Year 1 children’s guide dog is continuing to be trained and is doing so well. It is always an exciting day when we hear how Millie is doing.
You can watch a video of Millie by clicking the link below. We are all so proud of her!
PGA coffee morning
In the past, Aldborough has had a vibrant and active PGA. A PGA is a Parent- Guardian Association, an organisation with a commitment to help enrich children's experiences at school as well as bring our community together through events. In September, we would like to begin the process of getting the PGA up and running again. If this is something you would be interested in, please look out for an invite to a coffee morning in the new school year.
If your child attends football club on a Tuesday (Years 4, 5 and 6), your child’s final football session will be on Tuesday 5th July. This is to make up for the session they missed.
For all other clubs, a reminder that this week is the last week of after school clubs. Please ensure you pick your child up from school at their usual finish times from next week (week commencing Monday 4th July).
We thank you in advance.
Please make sure your child brings their PE kit into school to change into on their PE days. Having a change of clothes helps with hygiene, as well as helping our younger children develop their fine motor skills. Children should no longer be wearing their PE kit all day.
Please ensure your children are in the correct school uniform at all times. This includes black shoes (not trainers) and black or purple hair bands (no bows, glitter or patterned bands). The PE uniform consists of black jogging bottoms or shorts, white polo shirt and black plimsolls or trainers.
